Hafa Adai! Thank you for checking out my Polynesian and Micronesian Gift Shop! Please note- these are ACTUAL coconuts harvested from Guam. They are between 12”-14” circumference. We cannot make the banks smaller or bigger unless God decides to send us bigger/smaller coconuts. 😁🤙🏽 This listing is for a hand made, coconut Piggy bank. If you know anything about Guam you know it’s full of coconuts and pigs! So it really is the perfect combination- that and everyone can stand to save a little money! Each piece is completely unique as they are all hand made from natural resources. This insures that each piece will be full of character and have no twin. Along with the natural materials, each piece is hand carved with Guam imagery. A beautiful one of a kind gift or display piece completely representative of Guam and her coconuts and pigs! Fun fact- did you know the pigs in Guam were an invasive species? The Spanish brought pigs to the Mariana Islands, along with other introduced food items, shortly after colonization in the 17th century. Catholic missionaries wrote that CHamorus lived off the land and the sea.  Spanish missionaries and their administration brought pigs and cattle to the islands.  When CHamorus were forced to live in established villages and had their traditional seafaring practices (such as off-shore fishing) banned to prevent their escape, they had to become accustomed to eating the imported meat… Crazy right??? Well as always, thank you for supporting small businesses like mine!
