These pieces are made with 💯 Authentic Kukui Nuts, as well as, Authentic Traditional Cowerie Shells. The necklace is 32” in length and tied together with the traditional ribbon bow-tie in back. Please note- there are 2 different variations in this listing. Brown Kukui Nuts with Cowerie Shells and Black Kukui Nuts with Cowerie Shells. There is no reason too small to celeberate here in the islands- why not spruce it up with beautiful leis! Seashells are found in abundance in Polynesian and Micronesian cultures. These islanders have a deep consnection to nature and the ocean. This deep connection has led to a very complex, nature-centered culture. Many of the spiritual beliefs center around the sea and its various creatures like a seashell. In Polynesian culture, the shell is a representation of peace and wisdom. Since Kukui is a source of light, it has come to symbolize enlightenment, knowledge, and learning. The Kukui Nut tree was a symbol of enlightenment, protection, guidance and peace, and its spiritual powers are still believed to flow through Hawaiian culture. Please note that I use ALL 100% natural materials and thus there will inevitably be differences in each individual piece.
