The necklace is an adjustable surfer cord so it goes from 30” in length-
wear it surfer or boho style! 😜🤙🏼 This piece is 💯 Hand Carved Koa Wood. Please note this is a very light wood and weighs under .20 oz. Perfect for wearing for long durations.
Acacia koa is a species of flowering tree in the family Fabaceae. It is endemic to the Hawaiian Islands, where it is the second most common tree. The highest populations are on Hawaiʻi, Maui and Oʻahu. Its name in the Hawaiian language, koa, also means brave, bold, fearless, or warrior.
The koru (Māori for ‘”loop or coil”’) is a spiral shape based on the appearance of a new unfurling silver fern frond. It is an integral symbol in Māori art, carving and tattooing, where it symbolizes new life, growth, strength and peace. Its shape “conveys the idea of perpetual movement,” while the inner coil “suggests returning to the point of origin”.
